Altered Jar

Autumn is definitely here. Just look at the pic taken half hour ago:

Off to school

Yeah, girls off to school, Lola is napping and I have time to sip my morning coffee and write new post!

YesterdayI realised I turned into WIPs kind of crafter. I used to be one-project-at-the-time type – in my previous life (well, few years ago)!

Though only one design on needles has its benefits – I prefere my current way of expression – few WIPs!

That way I can „spread“ my unfinished project all over the house and pick them as I occure at particular part of my home!

For example, Squeaky B is in the kitchen and I take that 3mm hook almost every night into my hands and navigate through the endless wheels of pattern!

   What a joy!

Also, two nights ago hubby layed his head close to my butt on couch while I was crocheting Squeaky B, so I used opportunuty to brag with blankie in making telling that my feet would never be cold again after it would be finished!

Boy, did he smiled or what! Can't remember he was smiling that hard withouth being drunk!

He said: „When it is gonna be? In the year 2033?“

   Such a supportive hubby!

For the last 2 months I am unable to get rid off an mustard jar – little jar, not big one! Somehow everytime I decide to put it in the garbage – I change my mind!

So, yesterday I made a decision to altered little bustard and gave it a purpose.

I open the bottom drawer on my long desk (keep some napkins, bandanas and leftover leather – leather is from one shoe factory run my Hedera's friend's parents):

bottom drawer

Took one leather (coloure mustard!), crocheted 3 boucle flowers, added white buttons (probably from hubby's old shirt):

   And  an hour after:

altered jar

(it took me whole hour since I have Lola on my chest in carrier)

Since I will have to wash jar from time to time I seamed leather strap with elastic thread so it could be removable:

Now, must go deal with UFOs!

What a great idea for the jar! It's lovely with the flowers in it and all decorated.

When do you sleep?.... or better.... How many hours do you sleep?
I have some (just few) UFO's that I'm trying to finish. Now they are all WIP's... it's sounds better, and I feel better when I work on them.
Love your idea about removable jar decoration.

You really are so crafty Sandra...you don't waste anything.
Here in Ontario the weather is turning frosty but the trees have all their beautiful fall colours in full force.
