Entry: My eyes hurt from all those pics Saturday, October 10, 2009

Little contest is over and there were 2 right answers – I was making a PILLOW CASE!

Marija and Heidi guessed correctly. I wrote their names on two little papers, put Lola on couch with belly down and letted her chew one. Marija – you habe been chewed! Congratulations!

Send me your mailing address on sandraperhaj@yahoo.com and you'll get some (well, few) things  I made. Hope you'll like it.

Now, though I ment to do this pillow case with lime/cream yarn and orange fabric backing … I changed my mind and turned to orange/cream yarn front and blue fabrick back – so it could match living room:

Also decidedto go with Larksfoot stitches:

When there are no kids on couch, and all toys are put in place...

Lonely couch
(OK, Hedera insisted to be in photo – she bought herself new skinny jeans, dah!)

...little Larksfoot pillow fits perfectly, don't you think!

Pilow in action!

I was doubting between pillow and pillow case, actualy, but with three perky kids around it was much wiser to make pillow case since that way is easier to wash it.

Back of p. case is overlaping one:

And If there are anyone who would like to „walk-this-way" (Adore all of Mel Brooks movies) here is what I did.

First cut two squares/rectangles (depending on shape of your crocheted front) for front and back of p. case (with seam allowance), and one rectangle (overlap) in fabric of backing:

Front of Pillow Case Pillow Case in making

Lay  the face of overlap fabric on face of main front fabric and machine sew it to get this:

Then fold upper sides both of back fabric and overlap and make welts:

Welts

Fold back the overlap on the face of front fabric and over that back fabric (front and back face with their interiors) like this:

Sew starting from upper right corner, going down then to the left finishing up at the upper left corner!

Turn your work inside out, hand sew Larksfoot square/rectangle:

Hand stitching!

And your couch is happy! (at least till kids come down and start molesting it)

So, if someone read those instructions and wonders why are written so clumsy – I have an perfect explanation – I always look at the pic when stumble upon some tut and rearly read instructions, so now I am paying the price of my neglect! Now I know what to do next time I find something interestiong to make – READ, READ, READ SANDRA!(damn, now I understand why hubby calls me Daffy)

No matter about my half-literacy one last pic to show the most important fact about this p. case – Lola approved it!!!!!!

Pillow looks nice, but Lola.... she is absolutely cute.
Do you have red and blu fabrics...or I have problem with my eyes? In your last post I saw red fabric, and now it's blue... I guess you have two.

Wow Sandra your living room looks so spacious. How do you keep from having clutter everywhere in there. I always look at my house and there is stuff everywhere. Maybe I need to simplify my house too. I love the cushion and it suits the mushroom brown color scheme too. Lola is looking gorgeous as always.
